Sympathy
for Somali Tsunami Victims and Plea to the Aid Organisations
SHHRF 0024/2004, 29/12/2005)
We extend our innermost compassion to Somali victims
and their families of the earthquake and tsunamis in the Indian Ocean. Many
who survived these natural disasters are still at risk from hunger and
disease. One of the worst area are Hafuun and Bander Bayla, in Puntland.
Displaced families are desperately need aid as they
have no clean water, food, medicine or shelter as most of their homes and
possession were swept away.
The UN's World Food Programme said in a statement,
“Cases of diarrhoea and other diseases are already being reported,"
We raise our voice to the many urgent pleas for speedy
and generous international assistance. And kindly ask the aid organisations
to assist Somalis who are vulnerable to disease.
Thank you.
